Olivarez lauds final approval of bill seeking to expand school feeding program

Parañaque City Rep. Eric Olivarez welcomed the third reading approval of a measure seeking to expand the government’s school-based nutrition initiatives.

Olivarrz said that his House Bill 9466 seeks to transform the National Feeding Program into a broader National Nutrition Program for public school students.

“Para sa batang mas malusog, mas malakas, at mas handa sa kinabukasan,” he said.

“Naaprubahan sa 3rd Reading ang House Bill No. 9466, na naglalayong i-convert ang National Feeding Program into a National Nutrition Program sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalawak ng saklaw nito kasama ang lahat ng public school students mula Kindergarten hanggang Grade 12.”

According to Olivarez, the bill seeks to address malnutrition among Filipino children, particularly those who are undernourished, through enhanced nutrition interventions and support programs.

“Layunin nitong matugunan ang malnutrisyon sa mga bata, lalo na ang mga undernourished children, sa pamamagitan ng mas maayos na supplemental feeding, sapat na nutrisyon, at iba pang programang susuporta sa kanilang paglaki at kalusugan.”
