From Marikina for Pampanga: Disaster team extends relief effort to flooded San Simon

Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro dispatched a response team from Marikina Rescue 161 to assist in flood relief operations in San Simon, Pampanga.

The immediate deployment followed a direct call for aid from San Simon Acting Mayor Anne Canlas as several communities in the municipality remain submerged in floodwaters.

Drawing from the city’s own experiences with severe flooding, Mayor Teodoro emphasized the duty to extend assistance to neighboring localities in times of disaster.

The rescue team was tasked with distributing relief goods directly to affected families still dealing with the inundation.

“Alam nating mga taga-Marikina kung gaano kahirap ang bahain (We people of Marikina know how difficult it is to be flooded),” Mayor Teodoro shared on her official Facebook page.

The city chief executive added that extending help reflects the spirit of gratitude for past support received by Marikina during its own crises.

“Maraming beses na rin tayong tinulungan noong tayo ang nangangailangan. Ngayon, tayo naman ang may pagkakataong magbahagi ng anumang biyayang mayroon tayo (We have also been helped many times when we were in need. Now, it is our turn to have the opportunity to share whatever blessings we have),” Mayor Teodoro expressed.
