Muntinlupa City replaces school supplies, shoes for students affected by fire

Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon reaffirmed the city government’s commitment to supporting families affected by recent fire incidents by replacing the school bags and MUNWalk sneakers of the students.

According to Biazon, one of the most common concerns raised by parents during his visits to fire-hit communities is how they can replace their children’s school essentials that were destroyed in the fire.

“Kapag bumibisita ako sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng sunog, isa sa madalas na concern ng mga nakakausap kong parents ay kung paano mapapalitan ang mga nasunog na school bags at MUNWalk sneakers ng mga bata.”

He said the city government has consistently responded by ensuring that these items are replaced to ease the burden on affected families and enable children to return to school as soon as possible.

“Ang response ko naman palagi: papalitan natin. Gusto ko kasi mapadali ang pagpapatuloy ng bata sa pag-aaral.”

“Ito nga kaka-distribute lang ng 79 school bags at pairs of shoes sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng recent na sunog sa Bunyi Compound.”

Biazon also reminded residents to remain vigilant and exercise extra caution to prevent fire incidents, noting that another blaze recently struck a community in Barangay Cupang.

“I would also like to remind everyone to always be extra careful. Sobrang nakakalungkot dahil nagkaroon nga ulit ng sunog sa Cupang, sa 41 East Kabulusan 2 ‘Batikin,’ kung saan 18 families were affected.”

“Nakapag-assessment na ang SSD at pinaplano na rin ang distribution ng relief assistance para sa mga apektadong pamilya.”
