The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa-Ospital ng Muntinlupa (PLMun-OsMun) College of Medicine has officially received a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed immense pride as PLMun, the very first local institution among over 140 local colleges and universities (LCUs) nationwide to offer a Doctor of Medicine degree, successfully passed CHED’s rigorous evaluation.
The official accreditation confirms that the medical program fully satisfies CHED’s policies, standards, and guidelines.
Mayor Biazon highlighted that the institution has proven its readiness to mold future physicians.
“Ibig sabihin, pumasa ang program sa evaluation at napatunayang mayroon itong qualified faculty, proper resources, at adequate facilities para maihatid ang quality medical education na kailangan ng mga future doctors (This means the program passed the evaluation and was proven to have qualified faculty, proper resources, and adequate facilities to deliver the quality medical education needed by future doctors),” Biazon stated.
Adding to the momentum, the pioneering batch of the medical program successfully graduated in July.
All members of the inaugural class are currently undergoing their medical internships right inside the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
Mayor Biazon emphasized that this official milestone significantly advances the city’s long-term vision for local healthcare development.
“Isa ulit itong milestone towards our goal of producing more homegrown healthcare professionals (This is another milestone towards our goal of producing more homegrown healthcare professionals),” he added.
