Gatchalian Visits 54 Fire-Victim Families in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon

Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian personally visited the families affected by a massive fire at Pineda Compound 2 in Sitio Kabatuhan, Barangay Gen. T. de Leon. He expressed gratitude that no injuries or casualties were reported, adding that authorities have identified where the blaze started and are currently investigating the incident.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Gatchalian extended his thanks to the city’s firefighters and volunteer fire brigades for their quick response in suppressing the flames. A total of 54 families were affected by the fire and are temporarily residing at the evacuation center in Antonio M. Serapio Elementary School.

The city government has stepped in to address the immediate needs of the evacuees by supplying essential services and facilities. “Nakaalalay po ang inyong Pamahalaang Lungsod upang matugunan ang kanilang mga pangunahing pangangailangan, kabilang ang filtered drinking water, portable toilets at mobile showers (Your City Government is on standby to meet their basic needs, including filtered drinking water, portable toilets, and mobile showers),” Mayor Gatchalian assured.

Reaffirming the city’s commitment to supporting the displaced residents throughout their recovery, the mayor urged the community to remain cautious. “Sa panahon ng pagsubok, hindi natin pababayaan ang ating mga kababayan (In times of trial, we will not abandon our fellow citizens),” Gatchalian stated, promising continued aid until the affected families rebuild their lives.
