Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval announced that all government offices in the city will implement an alternative work arrangement on Tuesday, following a directive from Malacañang.
In a statement, Sandoval said the temporary work arrangement aims to ensure the safety of government employees and residents as inclement weather persists in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
“Alinsunod sa anunsiyo ng Presidential Communications Office, ipapatupad ang Alternative Work Arrangement sa lahat ng opisina ng gobyerno sa Lungsod ng Malabon bukas, Martes, Agosto 18, 2026, dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan na dulot ng Southwest Monsoon (Habagat),” the mayor said.
Despite the adjusted work setup, Sandoval assured the public that critical government services will remain fully operational.
“Mananatili namang bukas ang mga departamentong namahala sa disaster response, kalusugan, at ibang operasyong kailangan tuwing may kalamidad,” she added.
“Ang kanselasyon naman ng pasok sa mga pribadong kumpanya at opisina ay nakadepende sa desisyon ng kanilang pamunuan,” Sandoval said.
As rains continue to affect several areas, city officials urged residents to closely monitor weather updates and advisories from government agencies.
“Pinapayuhan ang lahat na manatiling nakatutok sa mga mahahalagang impormasyon o anunsiyo ukol sa lagay ng panahon. Maging alerto anumang oras at mag-ingat para sa kaligtasan ng lahat,” the mayor said.
