Taguig Shares ECCD, YAKAP Center Best Practices with Albay Delegation

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano recently welcomed the Child Development Workers (CDW) Federation from the Municipality of Libon, Albay, led by Federation President Cherryl Villanueva, for a benchmarking visit focused on early childhood care and disability intervention programs.

In a Facebook post sharing the visit of the delegation, Cayetano highlighted the city’s key initiatives, emphasizing that “Isa po sa mga programa na napakahalaga at napaka-proud kami bilang isang lungsod ay ang ating Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) at Taguig YAKAP Center for Children with Disabilities (One of the programs that is very important and that we are very proud of as a city is our Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and Taguig YAKAP Center for Children with Disabilities).” The Taguig city chief executive further noted that the YAKAP Center stands out as the first of its kind in the country to offer free inclusive education, early childhood care, and intervention services specifically tailored for children with disabilities.

The local chief executive expressed her joy in sharing the city’s best practices, hoping the visiting delegation would bring home valuable knowledge and inspiration to Albay.

Reaffirming her commitment to nationwide child welfare, Mayor Cayetano shared that “Ano pa man po ang mga gusto niyo matutunan sa mga programa namin dito sa aming Lungsod, handa kami itong ibahagi upang lalo pang mapalago ang pangangalaga sa mga kabataan, hindi lamang sa Taguig kundi maging sa buong bansa! (Whatever else you want to learn from our programs here in our City, we are ready to share it so that we can further enhance the care for youth, not only in Taguig but also in the entire country!)”
