Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos led the city government in forging stronger ties with Catanduanes province through the signing of a sisterhood agreement.
Mandaluyong officials signed the agreement on Monday with Catanduanes Gov. Patrick Azanza and acting Vice Governor Fred Benedict Gianan.
It is a symbol of the strong ties and cooperation between the two local governments.
The Mandaluyong and Catanduanes officials also exchanged gifts reflecting their respective identities and cultures.
Mandaluyong presented Catanduanes with a framed City Council resolution for the sisterhood agreement, the Key to the City, a Book of Ordinances, a statue of Manda and Luyong, a Correctional Bag, a replica of the Executive Building, and the city’s signature Mandaluyong Scents.
These are symbols of their friendship and long-term cooperation in various areas of governance and development.
