Isko orders relief distribution for Gagalangin fire victims

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered the distribution of relief aid to the victims of a fire incident in Gagalangin, Tondo.

“Masakit sa puso na makita ang mahigit 300 pamilya na naman ang nawalan ng tahanan dahil sa sunog sa Gagalangin, Tondo,” said Moreno.

“Kaya inatasan ko po agad sina Vice Mayor Chi Atienza at ang ating Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) Director Jay dela Fuente na magtungo sa lugar upang kamustahin ang ating mga kababayan at maghatid ng agarang tulong,” he added.

Moreno also assured the victims that the city government will help them get back on their feet amid this setback.

“Sa lahat ng naapektuhan, huwag po kayong mawalan ng pag-asa. May awa ang Diyos. Nawalan man kayo ng tahanan, ang pinakamahalaga ay ligtas kayo at ang inyong mga mahal sa buhay,” said Moreno.

“Kasama ninyo ang inyong Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila sa pagbangon. Hangga’t may magagawa tayo para maibsan ang inyong pinagdaraanan, gagawin po natin,” he added.

“Magdasal tayo at magtulungan. Makakabangon din po tayo,” he continued.
