Pasay City Leads ‘Operation Smile’ to Restore Local Grins

The Pasay City local government is actively pursuing its healthcare mission through the ongoing “Operation Smile” program, an initiative designed to provide free dentures to its residents. Spearheaded by Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, the public health outreach focuses on returning full, confident smiles to community members who lack access to proper dental restoration.

In a Facebook post, Calixto-Rubiano explained that the program’s primary objective is “upang magbalik ang matatamis at kumpletong ngiti ng ating mga kababayan (to restore the sweet and complete smiles of our fellow citizens)”. She noted that the initiative directly addresses a vital but often overlooked everyday need among less fortunate residents.

The local chief executive expressed immense gratitude to the healthcare teams working behind the scenes to make the project possible. She extended a special thank you to the city’s hardworking dentists and health workers, praising them for delivering a vital public service wrapped in genuine care and empathy.

Ultimately, the visible joy of the program’s beneficiaries serves as the ultimate motivation for the city administration to expand its grassroots social services. According to Calixto-Rubiano, every vibrant smile witnessed by the team inspires the local government to continuously deliver programs that cater directly to the urgent needs of the people.
