School opening is just around the corner and Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco made sure the local government is intensifying its preparations throught eh annual Brigada Eskwela initiative. In a Facebook post, Tiangco announced that the city is actively equipping local schools and students to ensure a smooth transition back to the classroom.
As part of this comprehensive preparation, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Navotas Chapter stepped forward to donate essential school kits tailored specifically for more than 3,800 Grade 1 learners across the coastal city.
Tiangco expressed deep gratitude to the local business sector, noting that the timely donation provides massive relief to families preparing for the school opening. He emphasized his administration’s steadfast commitment to the youth, “Patuloy nating bibigyang-prayoridad ang edukasyon dahil naniniwala tayong ito ang isa sa pinakamahalagang puhunan para sa kinabukasan ng ating lungsod (We will continue to prioritize education because we believe it is one of the most important investments for the future of our city),” said Tiangco.
Complementing the private sector’s student-level donations, the Navotas local government utilized its Special Education Fund (SEF) to procure high-value administrative and classroom equipment for public schools. The massive inventory distribution includes 917 electric fans, 110 smart TVs, 24 printers, 4 Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) scanners, and 4 RISO duplicating machines. These brand-new resources are strategically deployed to upgrade internal teaching conditions, simplify test-checking processes, and elevate the daily learning environment for students.
With the deployment of the new facilities, the city government is calling for co-ownership and responsibility among the faculty and campus administrators.
“Sa ating mga paaralan, sana ay alagaan natin ang mga kagamitang ito upang mas marami pang mag-aaral ang makinabang sa mga susunod na taon (To our schools, I hope we take care of this equipment so that even more students will benefit from them in the coming years),” the local chief executive added.
